“We are one, after all, you and I.
Together we suffer, together exist, and forever will recreate each other.”
~ Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
The Aquarius Full Moon rises tonight on the cross-quarter gateway of Lammas. This turning of the solar and lunar wheel is a celebration of community and a time to consider how we’re taking care of each other.
All full moons are oppositions of the lunar feminine and solar masculine. On the Aquarius-Leo axis, the polarity highlights self in relation to the collective. Innovation and creativity run wild.
It’s an Aquarian Thing
Renegade Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius and challenges us to think differently about ourselves, about the planet and our relationship to other. Aquarius is the sign of the next 2,000-year astrological age and heralds the dawn of a more humanitarian, egalitarian, just and sustainable world.
For the next three years, Uranus is engaged in a dramatic, ongoing square with Pluto. This period of protest, unrest, violence and chaos will reshape our reality as, one by one, individuals rise up and take a stand to challenge the status quo.
Watch for widespread Earth changes, too, and the extreme weather associated with climate change. Notice the elements of fire, wind, water and earth at play.
Colorado has been a focal point this season with the wildfires in June and the deadly movie theater attack in July. Right now, public demonstrations are sweeping the globe, with people pouring into the streets in country after country to demand social, economic and environmental reform. In India, millions were without electrical power this week as the grid failed in several densely populated regions.
What’s Next?
There’s a rumbling, anticipation, even trepidation as a steady stream of incidents unfold, each a flashpoint in a larger scheme of systemic upheaval and revolution. As we’ve said before, June and July this year set the tone for the next several years and beyond.
Uranian energy strikes suddenly and unpredictably. Breakthroughs are possible as flashes of inspiration and sheer genious fuel our unleashed creativity. That same energy also feeds chaos and catastrophe. We’re walking the razor’s edge.
Deep, lasting transformation is possible in:
Governments
Politics
Economies
Long-standing institutions
Social systems
As the very foundations of our society are shaken, we know we must change. We must adapt. Conscious evolution is guided by the still, small voice within.
There are now more than 7 billion people on planet Earth. How are we taking care of each other in these turbulent times? Are we nurturing ourselves?
As the radiant solar self shines with the Leo Sun, listen also to the whisper of your Aquarian soul.

How Are You Feeling It?
I’m hearing from a lot of people who are in transition, including physical movement and travel, during this creative and volatile time. New ideas, projects and a deeper sense of purpose are taking shape as many of the old forms of our lives dissolve.
Are big changes on the horizon for you in terms of work, education, career, family or location? Do you feel drawn in new directions?
As a practitioner, I provide expert astrological, intuitive and holistic guidance to support every phase of your journey. And I happen to specialize in life transitions.
I’ve worked with hundreds of clients around the world by phone and Skype over the years. Sessions include Life Path Consultations, Astro-Shamanism, Astro Forecast Readings and specialized relocation or relationship readings.
Please contact me if you’d like to set up a consultation for yourself or someone you love. Gift certificates are available, too.
“You have no idea how much it moved the energy by talking with you. You give us the support we need to get the energy moving when we’re stuck!” ~ Alicia
Personal Note
This full moon has special significance for me astrologically in terms of my purpose and passion. Ever since I published Cosmic Time in 2009, I’ve felt drawn to a broader calling in these times of transition.
I’ve introduced a new website that’s a seed-catalyst for my work in new focus areas including:
Social justice
Environmental sustainability
Urban renewal
Cultural creativity
The new economy
In short, I’m interested in how we’ll retrofit our society, including ourselves, to meet short- and long-term needs.
