What we don’t know about the Universe… could fill the Universe. Two theoretical physicists have suggested nothing like the Big Bang played a role in the start of our universe 13.8 billion years ago, refuting Edwin Hubble’s 1929 theory that the universe was contained in a single point in space and some violent event caused it to expand.
“Our theory suggests that the age of the universe could be infinite,” study co-author Saurya Das, a theoretical physicist at the University of Lethbridge in Alberta, Canada, told LiveScience.
The new study denies claims of an infinitely small and dense point of matter being involved in the beginning of the Universe, as stated in the Big Bang Theory.
“So when we say that the universe begins with a big bang, we really have no right to say that,” Robert Brandenberger, a theoretical cosmetologist at McGill University in Montreal told LiveScience.
The Big Bang theory comes from Einstein’s general theory of relativity.
The two scientists looked at the two dominant physics theories, quantum mechanics and general relativity, and concluded that they cannot be reconciled as they both fail to explain dark matter.
So they decided to regroup, and found “holes in Einstein’s theory.”
“One way to test the theory is to look at how dark matter is distributed in the universe and see if it matches the properties of the proposed superfluid… If our results match with those, even approximately, that’s great,” Das said.
Both scientists confirm that the universe was once very small and hot, but agree that it is infinitely old.

Astronomers have discovered a dust-filled ancient galaxy from the very early universe, which debunks earlier theories that earliest galaxies had no dust but gas. Astronomers from the University of Copenhagen used the Very Large Telescope’s X-shooter instrument along with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array and discovered a galaxy, named Galaxy A1689-zD1, which is an ancient galaxy and far from Earth.
The astronomers stated that the galaxy which
they were surprised to discover is far more evolved system than expected. It had a fraction of dust similar to a very mature galaxy, such as the Milky Way. Such dust is vital to life, because it helps form planets, complex molecules and normal stars.
According to the astronomers A1689-zD1 is only observable by virtue of its brightness being amplified more than nine times by a gravitational lens in the form of the spectacular galaxy cluster. Without the gravitational boost, the glow from this very faint galaxy would have been too weak to detect.
The astronomers stated that they are viewing A1689-zD1 when the Universe was only about 700 million years old, which is 5% of its present age. According to them, it is a relatively modest system — much less massive and luminous than many other objects that have been studied before at this stage in the early universe and hence a more typical example of a galaxy at that time.
A1689-zD1 is being observed as it was during the period of reionization, when the earliest stars brought with them a cosmic dawn, illuminating for the first time an immense and transparent universe and ending the extended stagnation of the Dark Ages. Expected to look like a newly formed system, the galaxy surprised the observers with its rich chemical complexity and abundance of interstellar dust.
Dust plays an extremely important role in the universe – both in the formation of planets and new stars.
Darach Watson, Associate Professor at Dark Cosmology Centre, University of Copenhagen, and the lead author of the study, said, “After confirming the galaxy’s distance using the VLT we realized it had previously been observed with ALMA. We didn’t expect to find much, but I can tell you we were all quite excited when we realized that not only had ALMA observed it, but that there was a clear detection. One of the main goals of the ALMA Observatory was to find galaxies in the early Universe from their cold gas and dust emissions — and here we had it!”
The researchers hope that future observations of a large number of distant galaxies could help unravel how frequently such evolved galaxies occur in this very early epoch of the history of the universe.

The New Reality brings with it a new vista of awareness. In order to operate successfully in the new environment, you need to apply the new principles which come with this expanded view of reality.
Such knowledge empowers you to awaken to your newly expanded potential and manifest it with ease.
Here are some basic principles of the universe, as seen from the expanded vista of New Reality consciousness.
In this, the ultimate reality is recognized as universal consciousness, which is the formative essence behind all that exists within the universe. This essence can be called Infinite Being because it is the awareness behind everything within the universe.
Here are twelve principles which describe the New Reality awareness.
1. Infinite Being is All That Is. Nothing exists outside of it
2. We are Infinite Being
While you are a part of the consciousness of Infinite Being, you are also Infinite Being itself. At the deepest level of reality, all that Infinite Being is, you are.
Therefore we are, each one of us, Infinite Being.
3. Purpose in life
At a personal level, you, as a soul, pre-planned the major themes of your life. You chose the time, the place and your parents in order to set a life plan in motion which would explore those themes. Such pre-planning gave rise to the occurrence of related, meaningful events in your life which may have already given you the impression that destiny exists.
Destiny does exist, to the extent that the major themes of your life are pre-planned, by you, ahead of time.
As you pass through life, certain names, places, people and activities resonate with a certain specialness in your consciousness. It’s almost as if you knew them once before, but you can’t quite remember when or where. That is destiny, as it unfolds important, pre-planned and pre-viewed events into your life.
In the phenomenon called déjà vu, scenes that you recognize as they unfold in your life are scenes which you had previously viewed in another state of consciousness. This previewing occurred either during your pre-life planning or, more often, in a recent, out-of-body, dream-state where, in order to help yourself remain on-purpose, you reviewed the important, upcoming events in your life.

7. Life reflects what you project
Every time you change the way you view life, the universe, just like a mirror, reflects your new view of reality. This may not occur instantaneously.. as, often, circumstances do not allow the new reflection to immediately manifest. In this case, the new reality is held, like a pressure within the aura of your body’s subtle magnetic field. You then walk around in life, surrounded by this magnetic potential, as it influences your circumstances to adapt into a form where the new reality will be able to manifest and operate.
Reflectance, sooner or later, produces manifestation. Therefore, if you don’t like something in your life, the most powerful way to change its effect permanently is to discover how you are generating that reflection, and then change your point of view so that you change the reflection that you are causing from the universe.
That’s how reflectance works. It’s just like law in physics. It’s how the universe was designed. The mirror of life will shine happiness upon you, but not until you first decide, within yourself, to become a happy person. Then it will reflect your new reality.
8. Abundance is natural
Synchronicity brings you opportunities, people, events and circumstances exactly when and where they need to be. When life flows naturally, the universe’snatural state of abundance follows automatically.
9. Love is the only reality
At this point, some people ask, “What, are you supposed to love someone who is bent on being anti-social, even destructive?” The secret here is that there is a difference between an acceptance of the outer beliefs of a person and an acceptance of their inner essence.
Regardless of that person’s outward belief system, and whether you agree with it or not, it is the inner essence of the person that you learn to recognize, love and accept.
The secret is that unconditional love will heal the world, and there is no shortage of its supply. The universe is permeated by, and held together by, the love aspect of the One Creator. You have only to allow it to flow through you in order to experience its wonder.

The way this is achieved is through regular, daily meditation. The regular practice of meditation promotes intuitive insight, unconditional love and personal spiritual experiences. Any meditation technique that you prefer will function perfectly well, but the Infinite Being meditation technique is particularly powerful.
With practice, you actually need no technique at all, because you will find that you can go into those deeper levels of awareness, whenever you wish, as an acquired habit. I think that when meeting people in person, we usually get overwhelmed just by someone’s appearance or facial expressions, which sometimes suffice to provoke an inappropriate reaction. I don’t want to say: Exchange your life for an online reality, I just say here is a great opportunity to learn how to distinguish a person’s motivation while engaging in carefree conversation.
Since the motivation is key in every dialogue, you should definitely figure out the agenda behind the argument. It is, in fact, much more important than the discussion itself.
Be it in a physical reality or on the Internet, there are always people who like to suck up all the energy in a conversation; their idea is not to bring in any plausible arguments, but to destroy everything which smells like harmony. Because in a real argument, you get to laugh every once in a while, and on occasions, we also admit to our own conflict of ideas – don’t we?
Trolling for fun and recreation
As you can see the words are always personal, they never contain any real argumentation, and if they do, they are combined with words which have a negative connotation towards you or the subject you are ‘talking’ about.
Losing all of your energy
Of course I believe that we grow and change throughout our lives, and that we learn to understand new perspectives – but not inside 20 minutes while having an angry conversation.
You might say; it’s subconsciously intentional. They are mostly not really aware of what they are doing, to say it mildly: they just are extremely oppurtunistic. They go after it, and try to make the best mess out of it they possibly can. And the higher the tensions the better. They always look satisfied when things get out of control.
I’ve seen them putting this sarcastic little smile on their face when they feel they got to the point where the argument is brought down to a senseless war of personal accusations. The funny thing is – or not – that they seem quite satisfied after such a ‘debate’ – but you are not.
Close the treasury and observe
In fact, you can test this for yourself. The next time when you sense that there might be such a conversation ‘coming up’. Try not to take any leading role, nor to explain any of your opinions. Just state them and let them speak for themselves. If somebody attacks you, let them, as if it had nothing to do with ‘yourself’ – because it doesn’t. What you will see is that they drop off quickly due to the lack of resistance.
Usually, they try to provoke with one or two more personal remarks directed against you, and if that doesn’t work, they choose another victim, or they abandon the whole situation all together.
However, the most important thing is: they leave in their own anger and frustration, with no energy harvested – and this is how it should be. You do much more for these people by doing nothing – than to prolong their suffering and inability to face their dysfunction by letting them feed on your energy.
The typical troll
They especially like to attack these topics, because they give them a perfect ground for ridicule and sarcasm (although some trolls are paid by various industries to promote their agendas intentionally – but this is another story).
A post on social media is a personal thing, because you share something you like or don’t like with your ‘friends’ or ‘circles’. So if your post reflects just that, I can choose to like it or not by sharing or disregarding it. But why should I write hateful and disrespectful comments below something that you like? It makes no sense. Perhaps there are inappropriate posts sometimes, but they don’t get commented by those people.
Internet trolling to me is nothing else but being a jerk on the local market square. It is the same personality, the same profile – watch out for them.
They test you
As long as they freak you out, you know that you still got to work on your perception. I think they exist to show us all of our weaknesses which we usually don’t see when we around like-minded people. When you stop taking their remarks personally, then you can focus on the inside and see what it is that upsets you. Perhaps there is something within you which needs to be recognized, something, which needs your attention.
Why they don’t like you
One thing is clear – if you want to be able to handle these challenges you need to grow stronger. The Internet is a great possibility for that; I’d call it a flight simulator. You can experiment without needing to fear any serious repercussions – although you shouldn’t overdo it! The aim should be a spontaneous recognition of what it is – a test – an instant awareness that this is happening – again – for just one reason: to make you grow STRONGER.
The real haters
For them it is impossible to deal with the fact that their government or any other structure they trust in, could exploit them for their profits. It’s just unimaginable to them, and so they discard it all together. An indicator is, that they never allow any of this to be true, simply because it would open up the possibility for a complete breakdown of their belief system.
I think they sense that, and this is the reason why they believe absolutely everything which comes from top to bottom – this is what they were taught to understand: information cannot travel from bottom to top, because it would destroy their whole world view instantaneously. To me, it feels as if they had a filter system in their minds, which blocks everything which might attack the system as a whole.
I don’t think that these people are psychopaths like the ones I mentioned earlier. This is why I would like to distinguish between those two situations. The people in this case don’t necessarily detest you personally; they just dislike the content you are posting.
What they don’t understand – doesn’t exist
Their main anchor is science and all its derivatives; it is the holy grail of all knowledge and anyone who questions it is a heretic and should burn in hell. Why? Because you are asking stupid, unnecessary questions for which you have no authority to speak about.
I don’t know why they continuously neglect the fact, that there are uncountable instances of ‘unscientific’ approaches who have let to great discoveries. Who knows what Tesla would have to go through if he lived today?! I’ve read that he said that the induction motor ‘appeared’ – vision like – in front of him while he was reading Goethe’s ‘Faust’. Well…I don’t know what he was smoking that day, but ‘appeared’….hm.
Thought criminals vs. status quo
Why shouldn’t people test alternative ways of governance, of healing, of food production, of thinking and experiencing, of socializing, of education, of co-existence – why is this so dangerous, crazy, superstitious, new age-y? And why should it be dangerous?
It’s an age-long fight; current systems don’t like to open up to new findings; they discredit them to keep the status quo. Why is it that people always feel so cutting edge themselves when they look at new technology?
All of this that we see today will be old junk in a decade or two from now. I mean everything: your clothes, your car with its latest equipment, your phone, and all the other stuff. It will be outdated, and you will look at it like on some ancient technology or trend – and you’ll probably laugh at it (if you are not a collector of antiquities).
Or look at all the belief systems people have had throughout the centuries: political systems, economic systems, educational systems – it’s just a system which will eventually change and rest in some history book as a ‘nice try’, an evolutionary step. Why is it so hard to see that all of this that you believe in will be gone one day – I mean all of it?
We cling to our beliefs as if they were permanent, although history shows – even the very recent one (look at your mobile phone from the 90s) – that things continuously change without us being aware of it at all. I mean – why all this fear after all – because something might change? It will – regardless.
The fear of loss that creates the hate
So the idea of any perfect structure is illusionary because they are run by people with millions of different individual interests. And combining different interests means compromising the interests of other people – so it can’t be perfect by definition. Consensus is possible in a society where no one wants anything, in particular, for oneself but wants something which includes everyone – like nature does.
However, nature is not a concept but a living thing which changes its appearance but never its functioning.
So to understand that we are part of this is key to anything we do, because we cannot change our inherent natural system, we can only change our appearance. When we understand this then appearances lose their seriousness, and we are finally able to enjoy this play of an ever-changing game of forms that come and go without mistaking them for being something permanent. They are not.
Who would have thought we’ll end up down here speaking about all this stuff – I didn’t. And this spontaneous surprise factor is what creation is all about. It is a play which reinvents itself continuously – just for the sake of playing.

Along with Earthrise and the Pillars of Creation, the Hubble Deep Field (HDF) photo of 1995 (above) is one of astronomy’s most iconic photos.
But if you were wowed by the Hubble Deep Field–and the similar Hubble Deep Field South (HDFS) image of 1998–you should know that a telescope in northern Chile has outdone Hubble. It’s given astronomers what’s being called the best-ever three-dimensional view of the deep universe.
In this picture, white star symbols are faint stars in the Milky Way. Everything else is a distant galaxy. Circles show objects that appear in the Hubble Deep Field South image. Triangles represent the newly observed objects: blue objects are comparatively close, green and yellow ones more distant, and purple and pink galaxies are seen when the universe was less than one billion years old.
The new deep-space view is essentially a set of observations made of a minute patch of sky in the southern constellation of Tucana–the same patch seen in HDFS. The observational data were recorded by the MUSE instrument on the European Southern Observatory’s Very Large Telescope. MUSE stands for Multi Unit Spectroscopic Explorer and is described by its makers as a “seven-tonne collection of optics, mechanics and electronics that makes up a fantastic time machine for probing the early universe.”
Fantastic sounds right. MUSE was able to record 26 galaxies that were invisible in the Hubble image, Dr. Roland Bacon, principal investigator for MUSE, told The Huffington Post in an email.
“After so many years of hard work on the instrument, it was a powerful experience for me to see our dreams becoming reality,” he said in a written statement.
Now that MUSE has proven itself, Bacon said the researchers would look at other deep fields, including one in another celebrated Hubble photo, the so-called Hubble Ultra-Deep Field of 2003.
“We will be able to study thousands of galaxies and to discover new extremely faint and distant galaxies,” Bacon said in the statement. “These small infant galaxies, seen as they were more than 10 billion yeas in the past, gradually grew up to become galaxies like the Milky Way that we see today.”
A paper describing the new observations was published online Feb. 26, 2015 in the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics.

However, scientists also caution that aliens might have nothing to do with these findings.
All this excitement is rooted in analyses of chemical data returned by NASA’s Cassini spacecraft. One study suggested that hydrogen was flowing down through Titan’s atmosphere and disappearing at the surface. Astrobiologist Chris McKay at NASA’s Ames Research Center speculated that this could be a tantalizing hint that hydrogen is getting consumed by life.
“It’s the obvious gas for life to consume on Titan, similar to the way we consume oxygen on Earth,” McKay said.
Another study investigating hydrocarbons on Titan’s surface found a lack of acetylene, a compound that could be consumed as food by life that relies on liquid methane instead of liquid water to live.
“If these signs do turn out to be a sign of life, it would be doubly exciting because it would represent a second form of life independent from water-based life on Earth,” McKay said.
However, NASA scientists caution that aliens might not be involved at all.
“Scientific conservatism suggests that a biological explanation should be the last choice after all non-biological explanations are addressed,” said Mark Allen, principal investigator with the NASA Astrobiology Institute Titan team. “We have a lot of work to do to rule out possible non-biological explanations. It is more likely that a chemical process, without biology, can explain these results.”
McKay told Space.com that “both results are still preliminary.”
To date, methane-based life forms are only speculative, with McKay proposing a set of conditions necessary for these kinds of organisms on Titan in 2005. Scientists have not yet detected this form of life anywhere, although there are liquid-water-based microbes on Earth that thrive on methane or produce it as a waste product.
On Titan, where temperatures are around minus-290 degrees Fahrenheit (-179 degrees Celsius), any organisms would have to use a substance that is liquid as its medium for living processes. Water itself cannot do, because it is frozen solid on Titan’s surface. The list of liquid candidates is very short — liquid methane and related molecules such as ethane. Previous studies have found Titan to have lakes of liquid methane.
The dearth of hydrogen Cassini detected is consistent with conditions that could produce methane-based life, but do not conclusively prove its existence, cautioned researcher Darrell Strobel, a Cassini interdisciplinary scientist based at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Strobel wrote the paper on hydrogen appearing online in the journal Icarus.
Strobel looked at densities of hydrogen in different parts of the atmosphere and at the surface. Previous models from scientists had predicted that hydrogen molecules, a byproduct of ultraviolet sunlight breaking apart acetylene and methane molecules in the upper atmosphere, should be distributed fairly evenly throughout the atmospheric layers.
Strobel’s computer simulations suggest a hydrogen flow down to the surface at a rate of about 10,000 trillion trillion molecules per second.
“It’s as if you have a hose and you’re squirting hydrogen onto the ground, but it’s disappearing,” Strobel said. “I didn’t expect this result, because molecular hydrogen is extremely chemically inert in the atmosphere, very light and buoyant. It should ‘float’ to the top of the atmosphere and escape.”
Strobel said it is not likely that hydrogen is being stored in a cave or underground space on Titan. An unknown mineral could be acting as a catalyst on Titan’s surface to help convert hydrogen molecules and acetylene back to methane.
Although Allen commended Strobel, he noted “a more sophisticated model might be needed to look into what the flow of hydrogen is.”
Scientists had expected the sun’s interactions with chemicals in the atmosphere to produce acetylene that falls down to coat Titan’s surface. But when Cassini mapped hydrocarbons on Titan’s surface, it detected no acetylene on the surface, according to findings appearing online in the Journal of Geophysical Research.
Instead of alien life on Titan, Allen said one possibility is that sunlight or cosmic rays are transforming the acetylene in icy aerosols in the atmosphere into more complex molecules that would fall to the ground with no acetylene signature.
In addition, Cassini detected an absence of water ice on Titan’s surface, but loads of benzene and another as-yet-unidentified material, which appears to be an organic compound. The researchers said that a film of organic compounds is covering the water ice that makes up Titan’s bedrock. This layer of hydrocarbons is at least a few millimeters to centimeters thick, but possibly much deeper in some places.
“Titan’s atmospheric chemistry is cranking out organic compounds that rain down on the surface so fast that even as streams of liquid methane and ethane at the surface wash the organics off, the ice gets quickly covered again,” said Roger Clark, a Cassini team scientist based at the U.S. Geological Survey in Denver. “All that implies Titan is a dynamic place where organic chemistry is happening now.”
All this speculation “is jumping the gun, in my opinion,” Allen said.
“Typically in the search for the existence of life, one looks for the presence of evidence — say, the methane seen in the atmosphere of Mars, which can’t be made by normal photochemical processes,” Allen added. “Here we’re talking about absence of evidence rather than presence of evidence — missing hydrogen and acetylene — and oftentimes there are many non-life processes that can explain why things are missing.”
These findings are “still a long way from evidence of life,” McKay said. “But it could be interesting.”
It’s one of the key facets of the American Dream: if you want to have a great house, beautiful spouse, and that head-turning Mercedes, then you need to get a good education. For many, an education does just that, as it provides them with the training they need to get into the field they are passionate about, to pursue the career that helps them achieve this “ideal” reality.
However, there seems to be a much darker side to post-secondary education that is strengthening its grip on the necks of well-intentioned Americans. This dark side is student debt. According to the Federal Reserve, student loan debt is now nearly $1.2 trillion in the United States alone.(1) A 2012 study revealed that the average cost to attend an American post-secondary institution [tuition, room and board] ranges from approximately $14,300 to $37,800 per year.(2)
With the cost of education so high, it’s no wonder that so many Americans find themselves swimming in student debt well beyond the years of their education.
Forever A Burden
According to the Federal Reserve the median balanced owed is $14,000, however approximately 14% of borrowers owe greater than $50,000.(1) With this debt impacting the student’s ability to get a job, many wonder what solution is even available to help combat this staggering issue.
One potential option is refinancing, which can substantially lower interest rates but requires the applicant to have a steady income and high credit score – making it not much of solution for the majority of students. This cycle should make student debt’s recent rise to the top of debt delinquency rates come as no surprise to anyone.
In an attempt to shed some humor on this serious issue weighing on so many Americans, the popular comedy website CollegeHumor released a funny video back in 2012 equivocating student debt to an STD, check it out:
The Debt Collective & The Corinthian 15
Fifteen of its students – known as the Corinthian 15 – are refusing to pay back their owed debt and have sought the help of The Debt Collective, an offshoot group of the very popular Occupy Wall Street Movement. The Debt Collective have been quite successful thus far in combatting student debt, and look to add the issue being faced by the Corinthian 15 to their list of successes.
Movements such as The Debt Collective, in my opinion, are certainly worth familiarizing yourself with whether or not you find yourself buried in student debt. All of these movements are a living example of the power in numbers, something we can all utilize in bringing about needed change in so many sectors of the world.

According to quantum mechanics light acts as both a particle and a wave, but now we can finally see what that looks like.
Quantum mechanics is an incredibly complex field for a simple reason: So much of what it studies can be two different things at the exact same time. Light is a great example since it behaves like both a particle and a wave, but only appears in one state during experiments. Mathematically speaking, we have to treat light as both ways for the universe to make sense but actually confirming it visually has been impossible. Or at least that was the case until scientists from Switzerland’s École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne developed their own unique photography method.
The image was created by shooting a pulse of laser light at a metallic nanowire to make its charged particles vibrate. Next the scientists fired a stream of electrons past the wire holding the trapped light. When the two collided, it created an energy exchange that could be photographed from the electron microscope.
So what does this mean when looking at the photograph? When the photons and electrons collide, they either slow down or speed up, which creates a visualization of a light wave. At the same time the speed change appears as a quanta – packets of energy – transferred between the electrons and photons as particles. In other words, it’s the first case of observing light particles and waves simultaneously.
“This experiment demonstrates that, for the first time ever, we can film quantum mechanics – and its paradoxical nature – directly,” research leader Fabrizio Carbone explained. This has enormous implications not only for quantum research, but also quantum-based technologies still in development. “Being able to image and control quantum phenomena at the nanometer scale like this opens up a new route towards quantum computing,” he continued.
The experiment results were posted in today’s Nature Communications, which will help other scientists build on this research with further studies. After all, it’s not like we’ve unlocked all of light’s secrets yet – we can barely even tell what color a dress is sometimes.

Just look up! Monday night, you’ll be able to see a beautiful sight. Jupiter and the moon will be the brightest objects in the sky. And, with some basic binoculars, you’ll be able to see even more.
The largest planet in our solar system, Jupiter, will be pairing up with the moon Monday night. The moon makes a pass by Jupiter, and every planet, at some point each month during its orbit. Monday night, the moon will appear fairly large, called a waxing gibbous moon, and that only happens every few years, according to Jim Lattis, Director of UW Space Place at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
“But the interest need not be in whether it’s unusual. Rather, it’s a beautiful sight and leads people to look up and think about astronomical things and our place among them,” Lattis said.
After Venus sets, Jupiter and the moon will be the two brightest objects in the sky. Jupiter and the moon will reach the high point in our skies in late evening. With binoculars or a telescope, you’ll even be able to see some of Jupiter’s Galilean moons. They’ll look like little points of light.
