Shar Joy Thought of the Day

I remember a boyfriend and I just loved his name: Cary.....he was unusual and so was a sign that was hung in his bedroom....It said " YES." I asked him what it meant and he said " what does it mean to you, that is what is the most pertinent question now?!" I replied that I thought it meant allowing life....to happen whatever the emotion or situation. He smiled broadly, Yes he replied. His heart had been heavy as he had lost people close to him and he traveled the world and couldn't get close enough to anyone in his career. He was in the illusion of contradictions. He wrapped himself in the wound of forgetting so he could protect the child within from pain. I let him in on a secret....that he said "no," to lessons more often than yes and that sign was only a sign until he dismantled it and wore it as a crown. Cary laughed so loudly as he closed his eyes and cried. Finally he welcomed the heaviness, the sleepless nights, the velvet scars he tatooed in his veins and he let the bloody sadness out. The tyranny of his mind had him trapped but he no longer wailed and gave a smile saying please stay and watch the dawn while I rest in your lap. I never saw him after that incident but I knew he was well and love was reflected in his eyes when he gave me a kiss and a strong embrace and said "always will have you, inside." He was shoring himself up for the next episode yet this time he was changed. He understood that there are no guarantees. For from the viewpoint of fear none are strong enough. From the viewpoint of love "none are necessary."
