A friend of mine has stopped complaining about her weight and her lack of energy and has started a program. She finally realizes that in order to get back to feeling healthy she has to expend more energy not the same amount. Her snack choices include hard boiled eggs, almonds unroasted and unsalted, olives of all kinds, carrot sticks with hummus, sweet potatos and toast with cashew spread. The coolest thing is her attitude, she is excited by eating what is best for her body and not excited anymore by the cake or ice cream. By eating avocados and cherries with watermelon she has more time to herself as these are easy and fast to make. One must sweat to take off the extra pounds and we play tennis and bike ride together even in the hot weather. One suggestion I add is to day dream and dilly dally. It serves as a time of reflection and creative resourcefulness. Gazing, listening to the cicada's etc....is useful and last of all....make a "joy list" and do at least one of them weekly! Use your new found energy to create a new direction in your life.
