As April begins an explosion of fire energy floods in as the Sun, Moon, , Mars, and Uranus are all in the astrological sign of Aries.  Aries, a fire sign, is primarily Masculine in its energy.  As such it relates to the expression of your will and your desire to express and explore your individual self through your physical experience.  At this phase of your evolutionary growth and development you can now move swiftly forward consciously utilising the fire energy to demolish any old, outdated and limiting patterns, behaviours and ideals and create a based on the virtues of compassion, forgiveness and love.

Much of the energy of March was focused on change and transformation.  This energy can be visually witnessed through the affects of Japan’s Earthquake and Tsunami, the resulting threat of nuclear contamination and the rebellions and revolutions occurring in and the Middle East.  This theme will continue into April but is somewhat toned down due to the influence of Saturn in Libra.

Saturn is the Celestial Taskmaster and demands perseverance through whatever trials and tribulations you may be experiencing. The gift of Saturn is that it supports a step-by-step process towards self-mastery.  I personally have had Saturn in my own chart for what seems like forever and it took me a very long time to see the benefits and to work effectively with the energy that it brings.  Those benefits are that hard work and perseverance upon our path bring the ultimate gift of awareness, and self-mastery.

This month Saturn in Libra looks to be holding tightly to the strings of all the planets in Aires.  There may well be feelings of frustration due to a sense of restriction, delay and or restraint.  The benefits of this will ultimately teach us to hold our horses, become aware of our intention and the outcome of our actions.  Without the restraining force of Saturn this month we would likely rush forward, implementing our ideas and inspirations, without a thought to the consequences of our actions.

The need for stability and security may become intense giving rise to fears and a sense of contraction.  Getting back to basics, reassessing your foundations, removing what is unnecessary and what no longer serves you will alleviate any fears that arise during this month.  By focusing on your personal growth and development, look for the positive in your life experience and keep yourself grounded.  This month may well mark the culmination of years of hard work.  Any hasty decisions or actions will not be productive during this time. Patience is key to seeing the benefits that will finally show themselves over the coming months.

This month Mercury, the planet ruling communications is currently retrograde, turning direct on April 23rd.  With all the fire energy this may well create a feeling of being pushed and pulled into two different directions.  As we continue to birth a consciousness within our world and ourselves we must remember to utilise the gifts of our Divine wisdom in making our choices and decisions.  The gift in Mercury retrograde is that we are given an opportunity to reassess what we are currently undertaking, whether it be in our personal development, our relationships and or our work.    Remember to take things slowly, resist the urge to move beyond where you are and keep in mind the consequences of all your actions.

The on April 3rd indicates the beginning of a new astrological year.  This New Moon is an opportunity to make important changes and transformations in your life and create the foundations for any new beginning.  With this New Moon feelings of depression and self-doubt maybe prevalent.  These feelings can be directly linked to the influence of Saturn’s energy.  The beauty of this placement, during cycle, enables you, throughout the month, to overcome any lingering fears and doubts.  The pressure of restriction and frustration will keep you focused upon your path despite disruption and doubts and will support the development of inner faith and trust.

The Full Moon on April 17th/18th is in the astrological sign of Libra, which is opposite Aries on the astrological wheel.  A Full Moon cycle is generally a time of completion but during this months Full Moon it may well prove to be difficult in identifying solutions or bringing anything to completion.  Confusion may result but the energy of this Full Moon encourages you to channel your frustrations into constructive and disciplined action.

The energy of April promises to be intense.  The gift will be that you may move into the coming months feeling cleansed, clear and open.  This will aid you in hearing and following the direction your heart and thus manifesting upon the Earth a new expanded consciousness founded in compassion, forgiveness and love.
