Here is the UFO Headline News for Monday June 19th, 2017
Headline #1: Find Crow, Cup and Water Snake
Synopsis: Tonight, or any June evening, look below and to the right of the star Spica for the constellations of Corvus the Crow, Crater the Cup, and Hydra the Water Snake. You’ll be looking in the sky around nightfall. In 2017, the first “star” you’ll likely notice is really the planet Jupiter, which lights up the sky as soon as the sun goes down. Jupiter is near the star Spica in 2017. And Spica is your guide to the Crow, Cup and Water Snake. In Greek mythology, Apollo sent the crow to fetch a cup of water. The crow, Corvus, got distracted eating figs. It was only after much delay that he finally remembered his mission. Rightly figuring that Apollo would be angry, the crow plucked a snake from the water and concocted a story about how it had attacked and delayed him.
Headline #2: Jupiter Is The Oldest Planet in the Solar System
Synopsis: Jupiter’s ancient name really is well-deserved: according to a new study, the king of the planets isn’t just the largest in the Solar System, it’s also the oldest. A team of researchers from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California and the University of Munster in Germany have determined that Jupiter’s core was already 20 times the size of Earth merely 1 million years after the sun took shape 4.6 billion years ago. Since newborn stars tend to release energy that blows away gas and dust for planet formation, the gas giant must have had to absorb materials very, very fast.
Synopsis: NASA will announce the latest crop of planet discoveries from the Kepler Space Telescope during a briefing Monday morning (June 19). The briefing will be at 11 a.m. EDT (1500 GMT) during the Kepler Science Conference at NASA’s Ames Research Center in California–the briefing will include a panel of four experts, according to a statement by NASA: Mario Perez, Kepler program scientist in the Astrophysics Division of NASA’s Science Mission Directorate in Washington; Susan Thompson, Kepler research scientist at the SETI Institute in Mountain View, California; Benjamin Fulton, doctoral candidate at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and the California Institute of Technology; and Courtney Dressing, NASA Sagan Fellow at the California Institute of Technology. A question-and-answer session will follow.
Headline #4: Update: NASA ‘Father’s Day’ Rocket Launch Delayed
Synopsis: Original story: A small NASA rocket is once again poised to launch tonight (June 13) on a mission to spawn artificial glowing clouds over the U.S. East Coast after a series of frustrating delays due to cloudy weather and stray boats. The booster, a Terrier-Improved Malemute sounding rocket, is scheduled to launch from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility on Wallops Island, Virginia. The launch, however, is extremely dependent on weather conditions. If all goes as planned, the rocket will create brilliant red and blue glowing clouds when it releases gas-filled canisters high above Earth that may be visible from New York to North Carolina, and as far inland as Charlottesville, Virginia, NASA officials have said. The mission is a technology demonstration flight to test a new ejection system for the canisters, which will aid future studies of Earth’s ionosphere and auroras, they added. NASA has been trying to launch this potentially dazzling mission all month, only to be foiled by unacceptable weather and other details.
Synopsis: A Florida woman discovered NASA documents, which included photographs of classified aerospace projects, in trash outside her home, according to Orlando CBS affiliate WKMG News 6. Yvette Quinn, who is a reportedly a Navy veteran, found the pile of documents in a neighbor’s trash can a few weeks ago and turned them over to WKMG. The house is apparently up for sale, according to the TV station’s footage. Quinn was concerned about what she had found because the records included a list of scientists that had secret and top secret clearances. The documents also had the social security number of each scientist listed beside the name in plain view, which could’ve led to identity theft. Quinn said it was “scary” because all the secret information was sitting there in the trash can.
Headline #6: The Deafening Silence of Proof/Cheryl Costa
Synopsis: Since the release of my and my spouse’s book, UFO Sightings Desk Reference, there has been significant media interest, which has been a good thing. The surprising thing is the change in attitude related to the types of interview questions I’ve received. Prior to releasing the book, the questions asked by media hosts tended to be “little green man” queries. It’s a mosaic of questions: Who’s driving the UFOs? Why are they here? Most of these questions are intended to discredit the expert and present the subject in a silly light. But recently it has been quite different. The refreshingly serious questions are focused on the cold hard facts of the statistical numbers we presented. For some of the reporters there was a sense of fascination. For others, there seemed to be a struggle to hang onto preconceived ideas about the UFO topic. Indeed, many of the reporters had their view of reality challenged and in a couple of cases shattered. Several muttered, “This stuff is real!”
Headline #7: UFO Sighting in Butler, Pennsylvania
Synopsis: I am actually reporting this for a friend of mine who lives in Butler, Pennslyvania who gave me permission to submit this; she claims that she saw this object around 7:45pm on Sunday; she saw it directly above her, floating near 10,000-15,000 feet; there was no change in altitude whatsoever and she mentioned that it seemed to move very quickly across sky–from north to east in a straight line–she estimated that it could have potentially been the size of half of a regular commercial airline, a 747, and about 10,000 feet in the air.
Headline #8: UFO Sighting in Redmond, Washington
Synopsis: Driving on the highway at approximately 2:30 a.m., there was light rain, cloudy sky, occasional lightning and no moon visible; a spherical object was seen above the tree line on a hill parallel to highway–initially thought it could be a hot air balloon forced down because of the weather but I instantly discarded this idea due to no “basket” below sphere–no gas flame below thesphere–no tether lines, not the correct shape–this was a perfect spherical shape, etc. – not a hot air balloon.
