Here is the UFO Headline News for the Weekend of Saturday August 26th and Sunday August 27th, 2017
Headline #1: Look Toward Our Galaxy’s Center
Synopsis: Tonight – August 26, 2017 – look for the Teapot, an easy-to-see pattern of stars, located toward the center of our Milky Way galaxy. This month’s new moon came on August 21. On the night of August 26, the waxing crescent moon will set in the evening, to give you some dark time to view the Teapot at late evening. Be sure to look tonight because each following day will find the waxing moon brighter in our sky and out longer after sundown for the next one and one-half weeks. The two-week period of time from about September 10 to 24 will provide another excellent time to trek out to the country for an edgewise view into our own galaxy, the Milky Way.
Synopsis: A small clay tablet that was discovered in the early 1900s by Edgar Banks — the archaeologist, academic, diplomat and antiquities dealer who was the inspiration behind the character of Indiana Jones — has finally been properly deciphered. The tablet, known as Plimpton 322 in the archaeological community, is believed to date back to ancient Babylon, nearly 4,000 years ago. Its cuneiform script uses a base 60, or sexagesimal, system, which is similar to our time clock, and appears to contain a special pattern of numbers called Pythagorean triples. What’s incredible about that is, the man for whom Pythagorean triples were named for —the ancient Greek mathematician Pythagoras — wasn’t born until over 1,000 years after the tablet was created.
Synopsis: An ancient Egyptian pharaoh who ruled 4,700 years ago was a giant, scientists have announced. The remains, believed to belong to King Sanakht, who ruled during the third Dynasty, are believed to represent the oldest case of gigantism ever found—indicating the condition was not associated with social isolation. In an article published in The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology, experts analyze skeletal remains first discovered in 1901 in a tomb near Beit Khallaf, Egypt, around 70 miles northwest from Luxor. While it is unclear who the tomb belonged to, relief fragments bearing Sanakht’s name led people to believe it belonged to this little-known king.
Synopsis: One Japanese organisation has gone where no one else has before. The Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) has filmed a snailfish at a depth of 8,178 meters (26,830 ft) in the Mariana Trench — a record depth for capturing a fish in video footage. “We’ve set a world record for filming a fish at an accurately measured depth,” JAMSTEC senior research scientist, Kazumasa Oguri, told the Japan Times.
Synopsis: A tube-nosed fruit bat affectionately named after Star Wars’ character Yoda has been officially recognised as a new species. The bat, discovered in a remote Papua New Guinea rainforest, was given the nickname ‘Yoda’ because of its resemblance to the famed Jedi Master. It was also re-christened the Hamamas fruit bat after the Papuan word for “happy” because of its apparent grin caused by a rounder jaw than other fruit bats. But it has now been formally registered as a newly-identified species with the scientific name ‘Nyctimene wrightae sp. Nov.’–in honour of the conservationist Dr. Deb Wright who devoted 20 years of her life to conservation in Papua New Guinea.
Synopsis: “I wish to report an incident that I had on Thursday (August 10th) at about 7:30 PM CT (local time) in Chicago. I was out walking my dog and was watching storm clouds as they were coming in. It was then that I saw what I can only describe as a big owl that was in the sky above the lake just offshore of Ohio Street Beach. It was flying in a circular pattern and look like it was riding thermals as it was not using its wings much to keep it aloft but only gliding. I watched it for about a minute before it dipped down toward the shore and was out of sight.”
Headline #7: Sasquatch Spotted in North Carolina?
Synopsis: Henderson County (WTVD) — A tourist is claiming to have spotted what he believes to be Bigfoot while vacationing in the Henderson County area. Eric Walters of Boone said he was renting a cabin near Asheville with his wife and another couple when he decided to walk the trails Thursday morning with his Yorkshire Terrier, Zippy. He told ABC11 that neighbors had warned them there was some bear activity and to be cautious, so he kept his dog close. He said when he thought he saw a bear, he started filming video with his cellphone.
Headline #8: UFO Sighting in Pennsylvania, United States
Synopsis: I was standing in my back yard inspecting a ham radio antenna and surveillance camera mounted up on a pole on the back of the house, seeing what needed to be done to mount a new surveillance camera I had bought to replace the old one–and run new wiring; the sky above was clear and blue with some clouds off to the west; I noticed off to the east, maybe slightly northeast, something shiny in the sky and began watching it as it approached.
